What’s happening at the WCA?

Mondays | AA Meeting | 7 p.m.* Big Book Step Study Meeting – open to all

Tuesdays | Tai Chi for adults | 10 a.m.*
Taught by certified instructor Marcia Wyman, the class covers basic tai chi movements for balance, flexibility, strength, and mental concentration. Marcia teaches a modified Yang form that is easy and safe for everyone. The class will take a break for the first week in July and the last week in August. Email Marcia for more information.

Tuesdays | Mah Jongg | 1:30 – 4 p.m.*

Tuesdays | Karate | 4:45 – 8 p.m.*
Three levels of  classes are offered through Tiger Mountain Shokotan Karate School with instructor Gayle Fleming.

Wednesdays | Yoga with Coleen | 6 p.m.*
This class challenges us through movement of breath, with energy and vitality! Good for all levels.

Saturday, September 15 | Bob McCarthy in Concert | 7 p.m. *
Bob McCarthy is well known and respected in the music, blues and folk scene in New Hampshire and across the country. He is a songwriter, composer, guitarist, mandolinist, and vocalist.We’ll be set up café style with tables and a little candle light. The drinks will be BYOB and the WCA will be selling sweet and savory snacks. Bring a friend or three and enjoy the music. 
The concert is free and open to all. 

Sunday, September 30 | Wilmotpalooza | all day – various locations
Starting with a pancake breakfast at the WCA Red Barn, moving on to a WVFD and DHART demo, games for kids, meet your local businesses and nonprofits, and a great concert on the bandstand … the list of fun events and interesting activities 
never ends!

Sunday, October 1 | The Ninth Annual Scarecrow Contest begins! | 
Join the fun and build a fun, fanciful, sporty, scary, beautiful … or silly scarecrow(s).The Wilmot Garden Club cosponsors the contest and the deadline for entries is noon on Wednesday, October 24. Lots of great prizes will be awarded so don’t miss out.

Thursday, October 18  | Senior Luncheon | 11:30 a.m.* 
Hosted by the WCA, the Wilmot Ladies Aid Society, Kearsarge Area Council On Aging (COA), and the Community Action Program of Belknap and Merrimack counties, a Senior Luncheon is a terrific opportunity to spend time with friends while enjoying a yummy meal and live entertainment. Reservations required, to reserve call COA at 526 6368.

Saturday, October 20 |  Lake Sunapee Area Flute Choir | 7 p.m. *
Local favorites, the Lake Sunapee Area Flute Choir are back. While focusing on classical music, the group often adds a lively show tune or ballad to their concert mix. The concert is free and open to all.

Sunday, October 28 |  Halloween Fun | 5-7 p.m. *
Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without a trip to the Spooktacular Red Barn. The young and young-at-heart will want to join in. The decorations will be grand and  the candy, cookies, cider and other goodies sinfully delicious. Kids of all ages are welcome to stop by the Red Barn for games and treats. Free and open to all.

Thursday, November 1  | Thursday’s Child |   starting at 5:30 p.m.
Join the WCA and Wilmot Learning Place for this annual fundraising dinner at the Coach House Restaurant at the New London Inn. You don’t want to miss out on the delicious fun so book a table with friends and family. To make a reservation, call the Inn at 526-2791 or

Friday, November 9 | Fall-into-Art | 5 p.m.*
Come enjoy the works of local artists at the WCA’s Red Barn. Meet the artists and learn more about their work at the opening reception. Wine and delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served. Open to all and a $15 donation per person is suggested.

Saturday, November 10 | Fall-into-Art | 9 a.m.*
The exhibition and sale continues Saturday morning. Meet the artists. Children welcome. Free and open to all.

Saturday, December 1  |  Holiday Craft Fair  |  9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 
New location! Join us at the Outing Club Gym (next to the elementary school in New London). Sixty craftspeople will be exhibiting and selling their beautifully handcrafted wares. Admission is free.

Sunday, December 9 | Santa is coming to Wilmot – Part I | 1-2 p.m. 
Santa will be joining us at the WCA Red Barn for photos and a special holiday craft project. 
Children can share their list with Santa. John Swindell will take complimentary photographs of each family or child with Santa. There will be cookies and cocoa. 

Sunday, December 9 | Santa is coming to Wilmot – Part II | 2:30-3:30 p.m. 
Part II of our Santa event will take place at the Wilmot Public Library with story time with Mrs. Claus, gifts for children and more. Visit the Wilmot Public Library website for more information.

Thursday, December 20  | Coffee & Carols | 10:30 a.m.* 
Join us for some holiday cheer with an hour of coffee, cookies and carols! Free and open to all!
