What’s happening at the WCA?

Mondays | AA Meeting | 7 p.m.* Big Book Step Study Meeting – open to all

Tuesdays | Tai Chi for adults | 10 a.m.*
Taught by certified instructor Marcia Wyman, the class covers basic tai chi movements for balance, flexibility, strength, and mental concentration. Marcia teaches a modified Yang form that is easy and safe for everyone. The class will take a break for the first week in July and the last week in August. Email Marcia for more information.

Tuesdays | Karate | 4:45 – 8 p.m.*
Three levels of  classes are offered through Tiger Mountain Shokotan Karate School with instructor Gayle Fleming.

Wednesdays | Yoga with Coleen | 6 p.m.*
This class challenges us through movement of breath, with energy and vitality! Good for all levels.

Friday, January 11 |Annual Meeting & Potluck| 5:30 p.m.*
Join the board of directors of the Wilmot Community Association (WCA) for an action-packed Annual Meeting. All are welcome and WCA members are encouraged to attend. Meet with friends and neighbors, cheer 2018 successes and learn about plans for 2019. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to stay for the potluck immediately following the meeting. Bring an entry, side dish, salad or dessert to share. The WCA will provide beverages but feel free to BYOB.

Thursday, January 17  | Senior Luncheon | 11:30 a.m.* 
Hosted by the WCA, the Wilmot Ladies Aid Society, Kearsarge Area Council On Aging (COA), and the Community Action Program of Belknap and Merrimack counties, a Senior Luncheon is a terrific opportunity to spend time with friends while enjoying a yummy meal and live entertainment. Reservations required, to reserve call COA at 526 6368.

Friday, February 1 | Mac & Cheese Supper | 5:30-7 p.m.*
That’s right the WCA is holding its first annual Mac & Cheese Supper. Warm up with a cozy bowl of mac & cheese and help raise funds for the WCA. Salad and dessert will complete the offering. The cost of this fun-filled and delicious event is $10. It is free for children 5 and younger and anyone over 100 years old. Funds raised with the dinner will support WCA programs.

Thursday, February 21 | Meet the Candidates| 5:30-7 p.m.*
Selectman, library trustee, town clerk/tax collector and more are on the ballot in Wilmot this March. Stop by the WCA’s Red Barn if you would like to learn more about your neighbors who are running for office. You’ll have an opportunity to meet the candidates in an informal setting and learn why they want to serve the town as an elected official. Light refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, February 27 | Red Cross Blood | 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.*
Give the Gift of Life. The need for blood is always great and the Red Cross needs your help. Donors are encouraged to sign up in advance.

Friday, March 8 | Trivia Night | 7-9 p.m.*
Come down to the WCA Red Barn for this fabulously fun and funny fundraiser. Build your team of six in advance or come and create a team on the fly.  The cost is just $10 per person. Seating is limited and all are encouraged to reserve now. Fantastic prizes. BYOB. Snacks will be available for sale.

Sunday, March 31 | Returning North with the Spring | 2 p.m.* 
Thanks to a generous grant from NH Humanities, John Harris from the Monadnock Institute of Nature, Place and Culture at Franklin Pierce University will present North with the Spring – Edwin Way Teale’s epic journey from the Everglades to Mount Washington. The presentation is co-sponsored by the WCA and the Wilmot Conservation Commission.
