What’s happening at the WCA?

Mondays | AA Meeting | 7 p.m.* Big Book Step Study Meeting – open to all

Tuesdays | Tai Chi for adults | 10 a.m.*
Taught by certified instructor Marcia Wyman, the class covers basic tai chi movements for balance, flexibility, strength, and mental concentration. Marcia teaches a modified Yang form that is easy and safe for everyone. The class in on break and begins again September 12. Email Marcia for more information.

Tuesdays | Karate | 4 – 8 p.m.*
Shokotan karate is offered through Tiger Mountain Karate School with instructor Gayle Fleming. Please call her at 763-4774 to enroll.

Wednesdays | Yoga with Coleen | 6 p.m.*
This class challenges us through movement of breath, with energy and vitality! Good for all levels.



Sunday, April 8 | Welcome Spring Breakfast | 8-11 a.m.*
Come one – come all for an extravagant assortment of eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, juice, and, of course, coffee … lots of coffee. All for $8 and it goes to a good cause – supporting free events and programs at the WCA. Come out of hibernation, enjoy a fabulous breakfast and visit with your neighbors!

Sunday, April 8 | Sustainable Gardening Hands-on Workshop | 2 p.m.
To help gardeners prepare for spring, the WCA and the Wilmot Garden Club will host a hands-on workshop 
on sustainable gardening methods. Colby-Sawyer College students will lead the workshop at the College’s  permaculture garden. You will find the garden at the south end of the CSC campus outside the Sustainable Classroom. (Building 10 on the campus map.)

New date – Thursday, April 12 | Having the Conversation| 5:15 p.m.*
Cosponsored by the WCA, New London Hospital and Lake Sunapee Area VNA & Hospice, Having the Conversation is part of the Chief David White Safety & Wellness Series. This interactive workshop will cover the difficult but important topic of how to express your wishes for end of life. A panel of experts from the medical, social work and legal fields will help you consider how to frame your conversation with your loved ones based on your values. Light refreshments will be served at 5:15 and the program will start at 5:30.


Monday, May 28 | Black Fly Blitz 5 K Run/Walk | Register online by May 25
Day-of registration & check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. | The race starts at 9 a.m.
The region’s favorite 5K starts at the Town Green and loops through scenic Wilmot! Enter by May 1 for a free T-shirt. Preregistration ends May 25.
