What’s happening at the WCA?

Mondays | AA Meeting | 7 p.m.* Big Book Step Study Meeting – open to all

Tuesdays | Tai Chi for adults | 10 a.m.*
Taught by certified instructor Marcia Wyman, the class covers basic tai chi movements for balance, flexibility, strength, and mental concentration. Marcia teaches a modified Yang form that is easy and safe for everyone. The class will take a break for the first week in July and the last week in August. Email Marcia for more information.

Tuesdays | Mah Jongg | 1:30 – 4 p.m.*

Tuesdays | Karate | 4:45 – 8 p.m.*
Three levels of  classes are offered through Tiger Mountain Shokotan Karate School with instructor Gayle Fleming.

Wednesdays | Yoga with Coleen | 6 p.m.*
This class challenges us through movement of breath, with energy and vitality! Good for all levels.

Monday, May 10 | Well Water Safety Workshop | 7 p.m.*
Come and learn about private wells, how they work, and how to test for water quality from a panel of environmental experts and scientists. In addition, the panel will provide information on how to protect your ground water, testing guidelines and issues that can impact drinking water. The program is free, open to all and part of the WCA’s David White Health and Wellness Series. Co-sponsored by the WCA and the Wilmot Conservation Commission

Monday, May 28 | Black Fly Blitz 5 K Run/Walk | Register online by May 25
Day-of registration & check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. | The race starts at 9 a.m.
The region’s favorite 5K starts at the Town Green and loops through scenic Wilmot! Enter by May 1 for a free T-shirt. Preregistration ends

Friday, June 15 | Red Cross Blood Drive at the WCA | 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.*
Give the Gift of Life The need for blood is always great  and more so with during the summer months.The Red Cross needs your help. Donors are encouraged to sign up in advance.

Friday, June 22 | Volunteer Recognition Party| 5-7 p.m.*
Calling all WCA Volunteers! We would like to celebrate and thank all you do for the WCA. Join us for festive hors d’oeurves and a glass a wine. There might be a few words of thanks given but no long speeches.

Thursday, July 12 | Fairies and Gnomes Festival | 5 p.m. at Timmy Patten Park
Parents/grandparents are invited to bring their children to the beach to build a house for their favorite fairy or gnome (building supplies provided), stay for a swim and bring a picnic. Co-sponsored by the WCA and Wilmot Public Library free and open to all..

Saturday, July 21| Pie Breakfast | 8-11 a.m.*
My oh my – there’s nothing like … pie for breakfast! A delectable selection of sweet and savory pies, both hot and cold, will be available. And that’s not all. The menu includes fresh fruit, juice, bacon and sausage, coffee, tea and some delectable baked goodies. $10 for adults and $5 for children age 6 to 12. No charge for children 5 and younger.

Saturday, July 21| Bandstand Supper | 6-7:30 p.m. at the Wilmot Bandstand
Bring your appetite and join the fun. Nick’s Other Band will be playing and you don’t miss Amber’s famous chowder plus hot dogs, snacks, desserts and beverages. Be sure to get your tickets for the 50/50 raffle.
