What’s happening at the WCA?
We’re doing our best to stay connected while apart with virtual activities. Stay tuned for more fun to come.
This Fall at the WCA – Still Happening
September 12 – November 20 | Fall Get Out & Move Challenge
Casual participants or serious athletes, join the fun at the next Get Up, Get Out & Move Challenge. It’s not a race or a competition but a great motivation to get outside for some exercise while helping raise money for the WCA. (Or taking a few pictures for the photography contest!) Learn more.
Earlier this fall
September 1-30 | We love Wilmot photography contest
Hobbyists and professionals, kids, teens, and adults – all are welcome to submit their work to the WCA’s photography contest. Anyone can enter but all photos must have been taken in Wilmot. Learn more.
September 27 – 2 p.m. | Dragons & Damsels of NH | Virtual Presentation
Welcome to the fascinating world of the insect order Odonata – dragonflies and damselflies. Presented by biologist Pam Hunt from the NH Audubon, this program provides an overview of the biology and ecology of dragonflies and damselflies, highlights a few of NH’s notable species, and some results from the “NH Dragonfly Survey.”
October | Fall Decorating Contest | Yards from Wilmot Flat to North Wilmot
This year, the WCA is widening the scope of its long-running, annual scarecrow contest. Decorate your porch, your front yard, your rooftop – let your imagination run wild. From spooky graveyards and ghosts to cozy country décor, we’re looking forward to seeing your autumnal magic. To enter, fill in and send a registration form along with photograph(s) of your autumnal creativity by Wednesday, October 21.
November 1 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. | Halloween Tales | Virtual Presentation
Local storyteller Simon Brooks will tell stories to send chills down your spine. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with not-so-spooky stories for families and younger children. Part 1 is recommended for anyone aged five and older. Part 2 begins at 7 p.m. and stories include terrifying tales about goblins and ghouls, ghosts and gallows, witches and will o’ the wisps! These scarier stories are perfect for teens and adults.
We’re looking forward to getting back to a new normal soon. In the meantime, feel free to connect with us on Facebook.
The WCA events schedule is subject to change.
We urge you to check back from time to time.
* Indicates the event takes place at the WCA Red Barn at 64 Village Road in Wilmot. We’re easy to find – next door to the Wilmot post office.
